Painting by Brittany Wight
It’s been a long time coming (almost in time for my 21st birthday) but the complete documentation for my first curated show, Portraits of a Modest Man: A Celebration of 20 Years of Adam J. Kurtz, is now online.

NYC Rhymology used one of my photos in an update today.
From nycrhymology.com:

NYC Rhymology offers colorful glimpses of NYC, past and present, in the form of rhymes illustrated with side-by-side photos. The contrasts revealed though these rhymes show the complex tapestry of our rich city. I hope they amuse and/or pique your curiosity about NYC. Stop by often, new rhymes being added regularly.

Designed this resume for my friend Sun today. She is young, fashionable, and well, cool. Her listed experience makes all of that quite clear, so I figured the design should also reflect that.
Her resume was also full of bullet points, so I used them as embellishment at the top.

Hey everyone, I’d like your help! I’m working on something and would like photos of people’s fingers crossed. Want to participate? Here’s what to do:

Take a picture of your fingers crossed like this. Simple, and on a solid light background. I just held my fingers up with a sheet of paper and used Photobooth. You can use any camera you like. No need to edit or do anything fancy.
Email it to hello@adamjustkidding.com, with the subject “fingers crossed” so I know what it is. You can give me your name and location too if you wish.
That’s it!

Please share this post! I’d like to get a whole bunch of crossed fingers, if possible.

super serious work blog

I’ve been blogging for years, but my recent focus on tumblr’s blogging style has left my blog a bit hard to navigate. To avoid clutter and confusion, I will now use this space to showcase pieces of my own personal work, process, and inspiration, as well as relevant updates and life notes.

I will still operate a more personal tumblr blog, which I will be using more along tumblr’s “stream of conciousness” style. It will now be accessible at http://hello.adamjustkidding.com. Feel free to follow both, or none. It’s up to you.

I hope that this blog will provide an interesting look into my thought process and the bits and pieces that I create on a daily basis.

Resume design for Paul-William, who needed his to stand out in a pile of other retail applicants. The solution? Highlighter pink paper, of course!

I made some visuals for Secret Mountains’ song Growing Season off of their new Kaddish EP using a kaleidoscope that I recently purchased at the American Visionary Art Museum’s giftshop for $4. Consider me inspired.

New business card variations (hand-picked and scanned by Jenna Ullrich)

I’m not a huge fan of business cards, but people have asked me about them recently, and I suppose I need to have some, so I designed a custom stamp, and then raided the scrap box for cardstock and got to stamping.
